Therapy for people who are self-aware, but stuck
Hey! I’m Lily
Hi! I’m Lily, a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and Registered Clinical Counsellor living in Toronto, ON. I support adults in Ontario and British Columbia through virtual, relational psychotherapy and counselling. Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked at Shopify for a decade helping scale the organization. My own experience receiving a cancer diagnosis at age 28 shook me out of my corporate identity and led me down the path of listening to the voice inside me that always knew therapy was where I’d end up. Let me say–I am so happy to be here.
My therapeutic approach is relational and grounded in attachment theory and psychodynamic therapy. I typically work with clients long-term to understand their family of origin, attachment wounds, relational patterns, and more in support of healing. I believe people experience change and growth by working through hard things with the presence of a safe and attuned other. I am deeply grateful to be that for my clients.
Whether you are new to therapy or have a lot of experience under your belt, you are welcome here. My goal as a therapist is to help you feel heard, seen, understood, and safe. It’s also to help you feel like you are making real progress and doing real work.
If you are unsure if you need therapy, want to know more about my approach, or are simply curious about what working together could look like, I invite you to book in a free 15-minute consultation call with me. Consider it a therapeutic vibe check.

FAQs
-
Therapy is a regulated practice where we explore your family of origin, personal history, adverse life events, with the goal of helping you foster increased self-compassion, secure attachment, corrective emotional experiences, nervous system regulation, distress tolerance, and ultimately help you heal from past wounds. Therapy is also a space for us to talk about trauma, diagnoses, family dynamics, cycles of abuse, future life goals, and more.
Coaching is a practice where we identify areas for optimization in your life with the goal of increasing your performance in your career. While we may talk about life outside of work, the majority of our work will be career-focused. We may explore such things as: limiting beliefs getting in your way of performance, ways of working that are no longer serving you, mindset shifts to help you relate to work differently, managing up and across with your boss and stakeholders, preventing burnout, and optimizing routines to help you work smarter.

The first session is a time for us to connect and start building the therapeutic relationship. More practically, it’s a space for you to share what brought you to counselling and for me to learn more about you and your world. This means I’ll ask questions about your social life, your family, your career, your medical history, your relationships, your overall health, and more. I’ll also share my approach, and we will collaborate on what working together looks like.

I am currently offering exclusively virtual sessions for clients in BC and Ontario.
I will be offering in-person sessions in Downtown Toronto in 2026.

Usually, but it depends on your provider! We do not bill directly, however many extended benefits packages cover counselling by Registered Clinical Counsellors. This means, we’ll provide a receipt and license number following your appointment so you can submit to your benefits!
I recommend contacting your benefits provider or HR team at work to understand your coverage.

Life happens! If you need to cancel your appointment, we ask for 24 hours notice. This allows us to open up the slot for another client. If you need to cancel within 24 hours, we may charge a fee.

That is a-okay! There is no “right” way to show up in counselling, and my approach prioritizes you feeling safe and informed about the work we’re doing together. If it’s your first time, we’ll take space in the first session to talk about what counselling is and what you can expect.

Nope! Diagnosis or not, you are welcome here. We’ll discuss what’s going on in your life, how you’re feeling, and how I can help.
Registered Clinical Counsellors cannot diagnose, but we can refer you to Psychologists and other specialists who do!
